Writings from the Heart

23 and On…

23 was a roller coaster of a year, but God is so good and He is so faithful. Today I say goodbye, and tomorrow I say hello to 24.

Here are 23 things I learned from my twenty-third year.

  1. Jesus is everything.
  2. My goodness is nothing apart from God.
  3. Forgiveness and restoration is possible and so beautiful, but we have to let Him do it His way, in His timing.
  4. Don’t bake when you’re in a bad mood.
  5. Choose your focus; problem or Jesus.
  6. (His) sovereignty over (your) struggle.
  7. People are so, so beautiful; take a chance on them.
  8. Always leave people on a good note. You never know if that’s the last time you’ll see them.
  9. Smile more.
  10. I know God sees me. I know He saw me then and He sees me now.
  11. Goodness is all around us, but sometimes we just have to look for it.
  12. You are so, so loved.
  13. Your walk with God is your walk with God.
  14. The veil was torn and we are no longer separated from God. Walk in His presence.
  15. Give God space to do what He said He’d do.
  16. God does already know what you’re going to do, but still there is mercy, grace, and Him.
  17. You can find true happiness in God.
  18. Jesus never said we’d have perfect lives. Instead, we’d have to live this life with endurance, but He’s our deliverer.
  19. You learn true compassion when the person who you think doesn’t deserve it is staring at you right in the face.
  20. Give Him what you have, and He’ll take care of the rest.
  21. Praying friends are the best kind of friends.
  22. EVERYTHING by prayer.
  23. Be brave. Speak up. Take Chances.

Be blessed, beautiful people!

Love, Sarah Lynn
