There are two sides of pain, and I’m on the other side.
Embracing the arms of remorse, holding the hands of desperation.
Looking into the eyes of grief, rubbing shoulders with anger.
Compassion I have, empathy I’ll extend.
But mercy I’m to love, and grace I’m to give.
A prayer for punishment challenged by a prayer for forgiveness.
There are two sides of pain, and I’m on the other side.
Praying for peace, and believing in redemption.
